I filmed The Stoneking Project as archival footage for a recording project in association with Robinson Productions in 2001. It wasn't until much later that I came upon the tapes and realized how much material there was, enough to tell the entire rags-to-riches-and-back-to-rags story. I found the people involved, who had all moved on to other lives, and interviewed them about their memories of the project. It's like Spinal Tap, only real.
